Organizational Excellence

We build continuous improvement into everything we do.

In 2020-21, we turned to Accreditation Canada, Safety Canada, and our employees to tell us where we are leaders in our sector and where we can improve.

Highlights from 2020-21

Accreditation Canada: Driving change with patients first

The CWC PCN is committed to continuous improvement and participates in Accreditation Canada’s Qmentum program to enhance the quality and safety of its services.

Accreditation Canada conducted an onsite survey of the CWC PCN in fall 2020 and officially Accredited the PCN in February 2021.

We are the only PCN in the Calgary area with this recognition.

Accreditation is an independent, internationally recognized evaluation system. It is an ongoing process that verifies what health and social services organizations are doing well and identifies areas for improvement.

Being Accredited means a third-party (Accreditation Canada) assessed the CWC PCN, and it met or exceeded current healthcare standards. The CWC PCN is proud of the progress made in its ongoing improvement journey and continues to work to improve through the Qmentum program.

Standing proud

We are proud of the accolades we received in 2020-21. They reflect our organization’s commitment to growth that supports our employees as much as our patients.

A great place to work

We were named one of Alberta’s Top 70 employers, recognizing us as a leader in our industry and one of the province’s “exceptional places to work.”

The editors of Canada’s Top 100 reviewed employers against eight criteria and compared results to determine which organizations offer the most progressive and forward-thinking programs in their respective fields.

Working safe, physically and emotionally

Canada’s Safest Employers awarded us Excellence Awards in the “Best Psychological Safety” and “Canada’s Safest Public Sector Employer” categories.

This celebrates our internal safety procedures, our wellness-focused initiatives, and employees’ participation in the CWC PCN’s safety culture.

Feedback from within

We continuously check in with our employees to make sure we’re doing what we can to make the CWC PCN an exceptional place to work.

Annually, we work with a third-party consultant to conduct an employee engagement survey. This survey helps the CWC PCN understand employees’ feeling about the work environment and determine future priorities.

In our 2020 survey, conducted by Stone-Olafson, sixty-nine per cent of all CWC PCN employees participated.

Our employees shared that:
